This week I explore several topics calling it: “This n That” Citrus County BLOG.
Topics include blueberry picking, golfing, blocking telemarketing calls on your phone, computer help.
This week I had the pleasure of picking blueberries at Daisies All Natural Blueberry Farm, 8123 S. Lecanto Hwy, (352-500-9463) I have picked blueberries many times in years past, in Michigan and a couple of times here in Florida. But this farm is the easiest pickings I have ever had! They provide you with a bucket. Here’s a little tip: Take up a belt with you so that you can loop the belt around your neck with the bucket hanging from it and you have both hands free to pick blueberries. $4.00 a pound. I think this year is a good year for blueberries because we had such a mild winter. http://www.daisysallnaturalblueberryfarm.com/
I have also picked blueberries at Bette’s Blues Blueberry Farm located near Pine Ridge. 4752 W Abeline Dr, Citrus Springs, (352-746-2511).
I have never been to the Florida Best Blueberry Farm in Inverness but they’re opening day was April 13 for picking blueberries. They are located at 11135 East Nottingham Dr. in Inverness. (813-928-9028); https://www.facebook.com/floridabestblueberries/
For those of you who are golfers, you might want to check out Pine Ridge Golf Course again. For those of you who live in Black Diamond, you will remember BRYAN RICHARD the former BD Golf Pro and Director of Golf. He purchased the golf course and has been working on it, and I hear that the greens are in pretty good shape. They’re working hard to bring the fairways back. It’s a great value…you can play most times for less than $30 a round. 5600 N Elkcam Blvd, (352-746-6177). [email protected].
For those you who are tired of receiving telemarketing calls, there is some help for blocking the calls on your phone (especially if you’re a Verizon customer, and it’s free.) I learned this info from a CMUG email:
If you don’t know who CMUG (Citrus MAC Users Group) is, it is a group of local computer users who help each other with solving problems, providing new information and twice a month hold help sessions at a local Church. (MAC computer, I-device and I-phone). In fact, there is a help session the week, see below. You can join their email list for the info and help. They also provide in home help. See their latest info:
As you know, CMUG as an organization ceased to exist at the end of last year. No worries, this google group “[email protected]” is still very functional.
This “cmug-list” will continue to serve the needs of the list members by providing
a forum for announcements, questions & answers and camaraderie.
Remember, the cmug-list is the way to ask for HELP.
Be as specific as you can about the problem. If someone can’t offer
a good suggestion via the cmug-list email mode, sign up for an
appointment during one of the bi-monthly help sessions (or) ask
for someone to visit you to evaluate the problem.
Help is only an email “ask” away.
There will be a combined Mac & iDevice Help Session on
Tuesday April 16th (1:00-4:00pm).
(The following Help Session will be Tuesday May 7th)
To register please email (click the names below, they are hot-links to mail):
