Re-visiting what to do in/near CC in winter…
See the manatee, take a river boat tour, rent a bike and try the bike trail or walk the trail in Inverness near the new Liberty Park area, play indoor putt putt golf at the mall, kayak (see visit citrus link), shop, try the escape room, try the zip lines, awaiting the opening in the mall of “Just Amuse Me” …
Inverness’s all new Liberty Park area-awesome new playground for the children (see video). Eventually this park will have a farmer’s market. Great lake views and a nice place to walk too.
Visit www.visitcitrus.com for details about what to do in the area. The big attraction this time of year is to see the manatee who are our famous “snowbirds.” See them at Three Sister Springs (walk the boardwalk) or hire a boat guide. The Homosassa Springs Park is always a good spot to see the manatee and other Florida wildlife. Take the boat ride to the park or train from the location on Hwy 19 or go directly to the park on Yulee Drive. The park was voted as having one of the best holiday light displays in 10 Florida cities. It is available til December 26 (not 25?)
Rent a bike (or take your own) from David’s Cycle World (Inverness) or Trailside Bikes (Floral City) both shops right on the trail. Inverness bikes also rent bikes.
