Citrus County Restaurants …Our Favorites
So Linda, “Where have you been eating out lately?“ With no new restaurant to report…
We have been revisiting a lot of restaurants, especially those we had not been to in many years.
We returned to Cinnamon Sticks in Inverness for lunch a couple of times and have found the food and menu choices to be very good.
We have found that we like the southern fried chicken at Crystal River’s Oysters (a seafood place-or so we thought! )
Not big on sports bars but we did try lunch at Nortons in Crystal River. Nah!
And Lollygaggers lunch-Ok.
Our favorite place for lunch is Jimmy T’s New York Deli in Hernando Love the chicken soup, crispy wrap and Greek salad. We also like Pine Street Pub in Inverness for lunch: their wings are pretty good as well as the flatbreads. Cattledogs in two locations (Inverness and Hernando) is always changing its menu for a nice variety and serves great salads and yummy lobster rolls and/or hog wraps when they serve them. We like the Front Porch in Dunnellon probably because we have to have a piece of pie for dessert!
Our favorite places for dinner:
Crystal River’s Vintage on 5th (my place to order ahi tuna). Their daily special menu changes and always seems to please diners from the seafood to lamb chops, steaks, etc.
Homosassa’s The Greenhouse Bistro: Again a wonderful restaurant that I call “gourmet” with wild game, seafood and landcover choices. Love the setting.
Cajun Jimmy’s Seafood Seller and Cafe in its new Crystal River location is very popular-no reservations unless you have a big party and then can make a rsvp. But food is good: excellent grouper, mahi mahi and crab cakes. Jimmy’s usually around to entertain you with a magic trick.
Lecanto’s Katch 22-the former Rusty Duck-has excellent dinners. We have not been there for lunch. Food is excellent and the earlier noise problem they had seems to be fixed. Worth a visit!
We like the pad thai, cashew seafood, and wonton soup at Beverly Hills’s Bankok Thai.
When we want barbecue we go to Hardwood Smokehouse in Crystal River. Crystal River Cody’s makes the best ribs, we think!
We also frequently go to… Inverness Outback Steakhouse, Ocala’s Bonefish Grille, and Inverness’s Stumpknockers. We find the food and service pretty reliable and good.
Hearing good things about Vandervalks on 41 in Inverness…so headed there this week!
So where do you like to dine?
